CONGRATULATIONS! Your FANTASTIC image has been FEATURED on the home page of "SHOWCASING THE SOUTH” L Please add the photo to the 2022 “FEATURED IMAGE ARCHIVE THREAD.” Thank you for participating in the group.

Artist's Description

A cheerful sunflower (Helianthus annuus) in eastern North Carolina. It's widely believed that sunflowers turn to follow the sun. This is true for immature blossoms. But once a blossom matures, it stays oriented eastward. This allows the early morning sun to quickly warm the flower, and increases the pollinator visits.
