While driving up Rt. 12 in Kill Devil Hills, I spotted these chairs on the dune. I turned my truck back, and was lucky to find Mr. Johnny Woolard, walking his dog down the driveway of his beachfront home. He told me the two chairs had washed up in a storm. He set them out in a highly visible spot, hoping somebody would recognize them and claim them. A few years later, they are still on the dune.

Mr. Wollard told me, I’ll see a young couple walking up the beach, appearing to be arguing. They'll stop and sit in the chairs. Within a few minutes, they’ll be holding hands. A few minutes later, they’ll be kissing, and have forgotten all about that argument."

He continued, “My preacher even said in his sermon, ‘If you have a problem, go sit a few minutes in Johnny Woollard’s chairs, and talk to the Lord.’”
