Artist's Description
I got an opportunity for a new experience, to visit the northern Shenandoah area of Virginia. It was late winter. The trees weren't yet significantly budding. There was little color, and the light was rather harsh. Not great for color photography. But this was perfect conditions for monochrome photography, using a camera modified to record infrared light rather than visible light! As I explored, I found this barn and silos along a gravel road. Who needs color?

In addition to the banner, I am adding this more permanent recognition of its FEATURE on the homepage of A TREE OR TREES IN BLACK AND WHITE. I try mightily to feature only images that would be at home in a juried competition. No doubt that this image fits that bill. CONGRATULATIONS! And consider adding your image to DISCUSSIONS "Please post your featured photograph here" for greater, long-lasting visibility.
