Artist's Description
Continuing my exploration of northern Virginia in early March. Color in natural scenics is scarce this time of year. Only a few trees have started budding. Starkness abounds. I'd better embrace it! Lake Laura is a 44-acre impoundment located in Shenandoah County of Virginia, near the West Virginia state line. The shape of the point in the foreground parallels the lines of the distant shorelines, and the formation of the couldmimic the shape of the lake. This image recorded infrared light, rather than visible light, rendering the dark sky and white vegetation.
